GET RID OF YOUR IDOLS

GET RID OF YOUR IDOLS

THE SEED

“Did you bring me sacrifices and offerings forty years in the wilderness, people of Israel? No, you have lifted up the shrine of Molek and the star of your god Rephan, the idols you made to worship.”  Acts 7:42–43 (NIV)

The Israelites saw God’s mighty hand but still worshipped idols hidden in their hearts. This is a warning to us today. Idols are not always carved images they can be hidden desires, pride, habits, or anything we love more than God.

Whatever occupies the throne of your heart will eventually control your actions. If left unaddressed, it will draw you away from obedience and intimacy with God. True worship requires giving Him all of our hearts, not just parts of it.

Examine your heart honestly. Identify and surrender anything that competes with God’s place. When idols fall, God takes His rightful place, and freedom follows.

Reflection: What you idolize in your heart will eventually control your life.

BIBLE READING: Ezekiel 14:1–8

PRAYER: Lord, reveal and remove every idol in my heart. Take Your rightful place in my life. Amen.
