SEEKING HIS COUNSEL ALL THE TIME THE SEED

“The Israelites accepted some food from them, but did not consult the Lord about it” Josh. 9: 14 GNB
I implore you to read Joshua 9. The story of the Israelites and Gibeonites told here reminds on how seeking God’s counsel stops us from making poor decisions. We should refer to God’s counsel on all or as many areas as we can; not just in the parts we feel are the ‘big and important’ ones.
Two things would happen when we adopt this approach:
- We get to practise ‘hearing’ the voice of God, which is very good for all believers, for when the day comes where we really need to hear Him – it will not be so difficult to tune our spiritual ears.
- It becomes a habit for us to talk to Him about our decisions, which can only make us wiser and more victorious in life.
The Israelites in this story only sought God for the big matters and felt they could make the ‘simple’ decisions themselves. They were wrong!
PRAYER
