THE EVER STEADFAST GOD
THE SEED
“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV
The opening scripture reminds us that the Word of God is His bond.
It means He will keep all His promises. It means that God will fulfil every prophecy He has made. He never forgets, never fails, never falters, never forfeits His word. To every declaration of promise or prophecy the Lord has exactly adhered, every engagement of covenant or threatening He will make good.
When man is faithless, God remains faithful. God was faithful with Adam and Eve even though they sinned against Him. God was also faithful with Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, David, etc.
The names mentioned are from different generations, attesting to the fact that God’s steadfastness extends to all generations. In our present day, God is still steadfast. Dearly beloved, as believers, we have been adopted by a Father who will never write us off, never leave us or forsake us in our time of challenge. Even in His chastisement, He remembers His love for us. If you are a part of God’s family by faith alone in Christ alone, then you have a Friend who sticks closer than you can ever imagine.
PRAYER
O Lord, help me to remain in your steadfast love in all my situations.
