The Girl Child

THE SEED
“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28 NKJV

We could see in the word of God that God through His Son strengthens the weak and the neglected and is concerned for them. The love that is revealed in Jesus Christ is without discrimination. In the opening Scripture, there is no difference between male and female. An attitude to accept and have concern for the girl child should be developed and practised across the board. Their talents are useful for the betterment of society and the blessings of families. But the challenges to the girl children are ever haunting them. Their life is being challenged from the stage of a foetus in the womb of the mother to the tomb at the graveyard. Their life is challenged through foeticide, infanticide, women trafficking, rape, dowry and domestic violence. All through these problems, their life is challenged via Criminal, Domestic and Social violence. Dearly beloved, as believers, we must ensure freedom for the girl child from being objectified, from being seen as just a sexual object, freedom to become who God has called her to be in every aspect of life, and it’s not about meeting cultural expectations and what society says they have to do. It’s about who God called them to be.

PRAYER
Lord, help us within your kingdom not to be ruled by societal ideas that create ungodly barriers to the girl child’s divine destiny. Amen
