THE SEED
“The LORD had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.” Genesis 12:1
God instructed Abraham to leave his home country where he was established. The interesting thing is that God did not tell him where he was going at the time. Imagine forsaking the land where you are fully established at age seventy-five, into a place where you do not know. To an ordinary mind, it would take a lot of pondering to embark on such journey; yet Abraham did not question the voice of God. The promises of God were more than enough for him to take his household and possessions in obedience to the instructions of God.God wants relationship. He wants us to trust Him for direction every step of the way. Perhaps, if God told Abraham the city he was going, he could be tempted to take shortcuts and forsake the leading of God. This new year is one never lived before. You probably don’t know what to expect this year, but you must find assurance in the promises of God. You must walk with Him daily in obedience and trusting in His voice of direction.
