THE SEED
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Romans 3:23-24 (NIV)
Our opening Bible verse declares that “All have sinned“. Remaining in guilt does not help anyone to grow in the Lord, rather it causes setbacks and destruction. To avoid such, God has made His grace appear to all men through His Son Jesus to relieve us of all guilt. As His children we are invited to a life of freedom from guilt, we should not allow the Devil to take advantage of us through guilt but we should accept the invitation of God by turning to Him when we do anything wrong. The way out of the web of guilt is the total confession of what has been done wrong and an apology for the wrongdoing to God and the person involved. Let us understand that guilt need not burden us endlessly; rather, it can be a trigger for sincere repentance and a renewed commitment to God. The Psalmist in the book of Psalm 51 expressed this in a heartfelt plea to God, to show us how we can sincerely turn to God with our guilt, inviting God to transform his guilt-ridden heart into a vessel of purity and steadfastness. Likewise, let’s acknowledge our guilt, but not be crippled by it. Instead, we should use it as a stepping stone towards a deeper relationship with God, seeking His forgiveness and allowing His grace to free us from the chains of guilt.
