DEPRESSION IS NOT YOUR PORTION

DEPRESSION IS NOT YOUR PORTION

THE SEED

“My heart is stricken and withered like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread.”  Psalm 102:4 (NKJV)

Depression is a silent battle that affects many people, often triggered by unmet expectations, life’s pressures, or attacks of the enemy. Like the psalmist, many have felt their hearts grow weak and their joy fade away. Depression is not from God—it’s an affliction that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy your hope. The enemy uses negative thoughts to create a sense of worthlessness, guilt, or despair. But God’s Word offers hope, strength, and healing. Fixing your heart on God, praying, and embracing His promises breaks the hold of depression. God has a unique plan for your life. Comparing yourself to others or dwelling on your pain gives depression room to grow. Instead, trust in the Lord, lean on His Word, and allow His joy to become your strength.

Reflection: Depression loses its grip when you fix your heart on God.

BIBLE READING: Isaiah 61:1–3

PRAYER: Lord, I reject every hold of depression over my life. Fill me with Your joy, peace, and strength. Amen.
