DYING TO SELF

DYING TO SELF

THE SEED

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” — John 12:24

Jesus used the image of a grain of wheat to reveal a spiritual truth: true fruitfulness comes through dying to self. Your preferences, ego, and desires must sometimes be laid down to obey God fully. The flesh will resist sacrifice, but obedience unlocks divine fruitfulness. Every great move of God in a believer’s life begins with surrender. If we are not willing to let go of self, we will never step into the fullness of God’s calling. Let your obedience speak louder than your comfort.

Reflection: Fruitfulness begins where self ends.
