GUARD YOUR HEART
THE SEED
“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.” — Matthew 15:18 (KJV)
The heart is the central bank of human thoughts, desires, and decisions. From it flow both good and evil. Jesus warns us that it’s not what enters a person that defiles, but what flows out from within. Therefore, guarding our hearts is critical to living a life that pleases God. The heart is naturally deceitful, but God can purify it through His Spirit. By filling our hearts with the Word, engaging in sincere worship, and walking in holiness, we allow the Holy Spirit to govern our thoughts. Evil thoughts should not be entertained; they must be rejected immediately before they become actions. Whatever occupies your heart will eventually shape your speech, actions, and destiny. A guarded heart produces godly fruit and protects you from spiritual pitfalls.
Reflection: What rules your heart will direct your life. Guard it well.
