THE POWER OF SELF-CONTROL

“For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.” — Titus 2:11–12 (NIV)
Self-control is a vital mark of spiritual maturity. It is the ability, through the Holy Spirit, to govern your actions and desires in the face of temptation. Grace not only saves but also teaches and empowers us to live righteously.
Daniel modelled this when he resolved not to defile himself with the king’s food. His discipline positioned him for divine favour and promotion. True self-control strengthens your testimony and opens doors of lasting honour. We live in a world that celebrates indulgence, but God’s children are called to stand firm. By His grace, we can live victoriously.
Reflection: Self-control is strength under divine influence.
