Wrong Association Invites God’s Wrath

THE SEED
“And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the Lord? Therefore the wrath of the Lord is upon you.” II Chronicles 19:2 NKJV

Even though King Jehosaphat of Judah loved God and was doing all within his reach to serve Him together with his nation, his wrong association with King Ahab of Israel, who was totally against God and full of evil could have cost him his life because the wrath of God came on him for keeping wrong association but God’s mercy also prevailed in the matter because of his good works before the Lord. As a child of God joining an evil person to fight against anyone because the evil person is your relation or friend is a foolish idea. You never know the relationship between the person and God which means you could be found fighting a child of God like yourself. By being in this association you might endanger your life by unknowingly aligning yourself with the wrath of God that has gone out to be upon the evil-doer and his associates. Beloved, be careful who you join yourself with, you don’t even know their plan for you, you only know yours which is to help. Learn from the action of King Ahab, King Jehoshaphat agreed to follow him to war but king Ahab planned to disguise himself for war but instructed Jehoshaphat to remain in his King’s robe. This suicidal instruction could have caused Jehoshaphat’s death if not for God’s mercy. Beware of evil association.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me in my decisions so that I don’t receive your wrath because of evil association. Amen
